Create and manage maps.

Start a map from your dashboard, then open it in the editor.

Create a map

1. Sign in and open My Maps.
2. Select Create New Map. If you have no maps yet, select Create Your First Map.
3. Enter a Map Name. Select Add description if you want to describe the setting.
4. Select Create Map.

Names can contain up to 100 characters. Descriptions can contain up to 500 characters.

Check the plan feature comparison if your account cannot create another map.

Open a saved map

Select a map preview in My Maps. Use Dashboard in the editor to return to your maps.

Previews show saved terrain, points of interest, rivers, roads, bridges, and geographical names. They update when you return after saving changes.

Choose preview themes in appearance settings. A preview cannot edit the map.

Your plan determines which maps you can edit. A locked map can still offer viewing or export controls.

Choose your free map

If My Maps displays Choose your free map, find the map you want to keep editing and select Choose as free map.

Delete a map

1. Find the map in My Maps.
2. Select its Delete map button.
3. Check the map name in the confirmation before continuing.

Deletion permanently removes the map and its editing history. Export a PNG first if you want an image copy.
